Therapeutic Approach
I work integratively, which means that I tailor my approach to each individual client's needs. I have a special interest in Cognitive Behaviour approaches (CBT) , Mindfulness , Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). (please click on each link to read a bit about each approach)
Most importantly, I prefer to work short-term and collaboratively. I strongly believe that therapy is a two-way process and I am here to give you the tools for you to take away and implement in the future. Mindfulness, CFT, and ACT are all therapeutic approaches that enable you to learn about yourself, your thoughts and beliefs and help manage them.
I like to work visually and creatively, using charts, maps and other hands-on methods. I believe in working as a team, giving you the tools you need to become your own 'therapist' in the future when our sessions have ended.
